Thorpe Park Resort has announced The Walking Dead: The Ride, the world’s first rollercoaster themed around the phenomenon, to open this Easter.

From the parks press release, this is what we known about the ride:

The exclusive immersive and terrifying experience comes complete with state of the art special effects, a replica of the iconic watch tower, and will be the ultimate test of riders’ mettle.
The Walking Dead: The Ride is the latest new attraction for the Surrey based theme park and will open in Easter 2018.
As the UK’s first and only multi-sensory and multi-part rollercoaster, the experience invites thrill seekers to flee The Walking Dead in a relentless and terrifying ride for survival.
Travelling through the deepest, darkest tunnels, it will feature extensive and realistic theming to bring some of the most compelling and gruesome scenes from all seasons of The Walking Dead to life.
In addition:

THORPE PARK Resort is overrun by Walkers and there is but one goal: survive. Making it to the sanctuary of the Safe Zone is vital for salvation. Located at the centre of the Island, navigate your way to the safety of the indoor bunker – but be warned. All signs point to an imminent invasion of Walkers, so keep your head down and move quickly for your best chance of staying alive.

We will see you at the Safe Zone…For the first time ever, experience The Walking Dead: The Ride. Those who ride…survive!

This attraction is not suitable for those under the age of 13, guests with: heart, neck or back problems, epilepsy or claustrophobia as the ride contains sudden stops, lighting effects and haze and those who suffer from motion sickness or dizziness.

So there we have it The Walking Dead: The Ride is the re-theme of X for 2018 and is looking amazing! We now know that the ride will feature all new theme, scenes, effects, stopping once again and it will return to a 1.4 height restriction. As massive fans of The Walking Dead we can’t wait for the new attraction to open ready for Easter.
