Thorpe Park History 2018

[vc_row][vc_column width=”2/3″][vc_column_text]

2018 at Thorpe Park sees the year of The Walking Dead settle in, with special events including the opening of the parks new Fright Night maze for 2017, The Walking Dead: The Living Nightmare with an extreme version opening May half term.

This also means we say goodbye to X in its current form as its transformed into The Walking Dead: The Ride. X formally X:/No Way Out opened at the park as the first major roller coaster back in 1996 and was the worlds first to travel backwards in the dark. With a stale theme the ride was re-themed to just X in 2013 with new trains facing forwards and importantly, a lower height restriction of 1 metre. The ride of “Wave and Sound” brought a disco theme to the inside of what was a very boring experience.

Still not popular and not well received the ride was down for closure in 2015 but survived until 2017, where we have The Walking Dead: The Ride opening in 2018. The Walking Dead ride will use the existing ride but will add an all new theme inside the building, a pre-show and a complete new entrance area to the ride including the watch tower. The ride features sets inside from all season of The Walking Dead.

Other changes include food outlets, with Bush BBQ closing and being replaced with Sticky Sisters, an outsourced outlet. The coffee hunt next to it becoming Cornish Pasties, upgrades to Burrito and a name change for the Donut Shop by KFC to Donut Compound to fit with The Walking Dead. On the same note The Dockyard area is created to not only house The Walking Dead ride but also Ghost Train, with Angry Birds Land by itself no more and merged with The Jungle.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][vc_column width=”1/3″][vc_row_inner css=”.vc_custom_1489588458544{margin-top: -40px !important;}”][vc_column_inner][vc_custom_heading text=”Park Map” font_container=”tag:h2|font_size:26|text_align:center|color:%23ffffff” google_fonts=”font_family:Cabin%3Aregular%2Citalic%2C500%2C500italic%2C600%2C600italic%2C700%2C700italic|font_style:400%20regular%3A400%3Anormal” css=”.vc_custom_1489812711324{margin-top: 5px !important;padding-right: 8px !important;padding-left: 8px !important;background-color: #f28900 !important;}”][/vc_column_inner][/vc_row_inner][vc_single_image image=”12747″ img_size=”150×150″ alignment=”center” onclick=”link_image”][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_custom_heading text=”Old pictures from this year” font_container=”tag:h2|font_size:26|text_align:center|color:%23ffffff” google_fonts=”font_family:Cabin%3Aregular%2Citalic%2C500%2C500italic%2C600%2C600italic%2C700%2C700italic|font_style:400%20regular%3A400%3Anormal” css=”.vc_custom_1489812756452{background-color: #f28900 !important;}”][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column css=”.vc_custom_1489813240620{margin-left: 25px !important;}”][vc_gallery type=”image_grid” images=”7092,7093,7096,7095,7094,7097,7098,7099,10968,10965,10964,455″ img_size=”100×100″][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row content_placement=”middle”][vc_column][vc_raw_html]JTNDY2VudGVyJTNFJTBBJTNDc2NyaXB0JTIwYXN5bmMlMjBzcmMlM0QlMjIlMkYlMkZwYWdlYWQyLmdvb2dsZXN5bmRpY2F0aW9uLmNvbSUyRnBhZ2VhZCUyRmpzJTJGYWRzYnlnb29nbGUuanMlMjIlM0UlM0MlMkZzY3JpcHQlM0UlMEElM0MlMjEtLSUyMDIwMTMlMjAtLSUzRSUwQSUzQ2lucyUyMGNsYXNzJTNEJTIyYWRzYnlnb29nbGUlMjIlMEElMjAlMjAlMjAlMjAlMjBzdHlsZSUzRCUyMmRpc3BsYXklM0FpbmxpbmUtYmxvY2slM0J3aWR0aCUzQTcyOHB4JTNCaGVpZ2h0JTNBOTBweCUyMiUwQSUyMCUyMCUyMCUyMCUyMGRhdGEtYWQtY2xpZW50JTNEJTIyY2EtcHViLTk2NDA3MjI5NDYwNDQ1MjElMjIlMEElMjAlMjAlMjAlMjAlMjBkYXRhLWFkLXNsb3QlM0QlMjI2MjAyMDk3NjUzJTIyJTNFJTNDJTJGaW5zJTNFJTBBJTNDc2NyaXB0JTNFJTBBJTI4YWRzYnlnb29nbGUlMjAlM0QlMjB3aW5kb3cuYWRzYnlnb29nbGUlMjAlN0MlN0MlMjAlNUIlNUQlMjkucHVzaCUyOCU3QiU3RCUyOSUzQiUwQSUzQyUyRnNjcmlwdCUzRSUwQSUzQyUyRmNlbnRlciUzRQ==[/vc_raw_html][/vc_column][/vc_row]
