Black Buccaneer
One of the greatest ships to grace the UK the Black Buccaneer swung over 60 feet in the then Pirates Cove of Chessington.
Seating 5 across this ride soaked in the queues and yet was not one to be taken lightly. Once the highest swinging ship in Europe this was a real out of seat ride.
After opening in 1988, a year after the park, the ride continued to operate through the Winters Tail event and closed on January 3rd 2019. At the time the ride wasn’t expected to close down however issues with the structure meant this ride would finally be replaced by Blue Barnacle in 2021.
