Samurai
One of the most missed thrill rides along with Rodeo is the original home to the mighty Samurai, now toned down at Thorpe Park Samurai came to Chessington as a replacement for the Magic Carpet in 1999 and spent five seasons at Chessington as their most thrilling ride until it left for Thorpe at the end of 2003.
Made by Mondail, this ride type (top scan) is still regarded by many as the most thrilling machine ever made. Whilst its not as thrilling at Thorpe Park, it still remains popular and has been restored to its original colours for 2024.
