The history of Chessington 2009
2009 saw not a lot happening again at Chessington, with no sign of a new ride the main changes are the removal of KFC and Pizza Hut in Market Square. This has been replaced with the new Market Square Pizza Pasta along with Refresh closing in Forbidden Kingdom, being replaced with Fried Chicken Co. Keeping the same range of food from KFC and Pizza Hut.
The stage has been removed in Market Square with no stage to return until Madagascar.
The only new addition to the attraction line up is the Lost in Amazonia in the Sea Life Centre, a cut down version of the one that opened in Brighton in 2007, Amazonia gives guests the taste of the rainforest, with a couple of new exhibits inside.
The Vampire has seen a new purple steel queue line added, with the addition of a shop. Although not quite suiting the area, there is still a long way to go before the ride looks as good as it did in the early 90’s.
The new map in 2009 sees the first real change in years, more cartoon like and making the park look more compact and action packed, a massive improvement on previous years.
