The history of Chessington 2008
With the Children’s Zoo moved in 2008 it’s replaced by a Sea Life Centre, although the centre is on a 2 year contract and may not theme in very well to the park, it is fantastic there’s no doubt this is Chessington’s best move in many years and will be an excellent addition to the park.
2008 will see the Casbah Cafe re-open as a Refresh, although changed towards the end of last season this will be it’s first full season open, whilst next door Tomb Blaster receives a new fresh sign and Rameses Revenge gets new surrounding sign.
Also with the food McDonalds has now been replaced by Burger King in 2008, with the Cadbury’s Castle replaced with the Smarties Castle chocolate outlet.
As mentioned the Children’s zoo will re-open behind Mexicana which has been wasted space for a few years now, this brings something fresh to the area. In addition there is new racing cars outside Dragons Fury, by the other entrance and there’s also another new games area in Mexicana. The zoo additions has also re-opened the opportunity for the park to re-open again during the winter for zoo days.
A surprising change for this year was the removal of the photos on Flying Jumbos, only been there for just over a season the camera has been moved to the Runaway Train.
