Here is some of the construction from ZUFARI in 2012/2013.
July 8th
Construction starts on what was the currently un-named Zufari, a lot of the construction will be hidden by rides and trees.
September 5th
Construction is now well under-way as a path for the ride starts to become clear and the Giraffe house pushing to the back of the ride starts to go vertical.
September 27th
The structure metal work is now complete as ground work continues.
November 4th
Walk ways and theme start to appear on site with the Giraffe house sides now complete.
December 22nd
The transport has arrived at the park, and it looks fantastic! We also know the Rhinos are happy on site and with the looks of the Giraffe house they will be shortly. Much more ground work and theme starting to appear.
January 3rd
First update of the new year and it wasn’t raining! Some much better shots as the ground work continues and the trucks look great close up!
January 17th
Whilst to many it still looks just like dirt, a lot of work has been done to the visible site over the past 10 days. A fair amount of land has been flattened, shingle has appeared on site and a more road looking road has started to take shape. In addition in the Wanyama Village what looks like a potential access path to the top end of the ride seems to be starting to take shape. For those that have yet to see the ride will feature:
It will be a 10th themed land on it’s own called Zufari,
It will have an On-ride photo,
It will be subject to Fastrack,
Minimum height: 1.10 metres, Anyone under 1.30 metres must be accompanied by a person aged 16 or over. (now changed to 1 metre)
The trucks themselves have storage facilities under the seats, looks like all belongings will make the journey on Zufari.
February 2nd
We have another large Zufari and Chessington update for you today, with Zufari coming on very well. The path way from the village to the attraction is getting in place, with the track leading up to the bridges also now in place. It’s also become very apparent the route the track will take on the right of the attraction, with new scenery seen in the background including some strange wheels close to the Giraffe house. Fences around the Giraffe paddock would suggest they are let out most likely out of hours, although this can’t be confirmed.
February 20th
The ride continues to come on with walk ways, fences and entrances more noticeable than previous. Although the field work still looks incomplete, buildings are also more apparent in the back drop as the animal houses also become themed.
March 2nd
Zufari kicks into life as the ride starts testing on the track, in addition a lot of work around the scenery is also taking place.
