April 20th 2023
Scorpion Express is now fully built and testing has begun, elsewhere in the park, touch ups continue. This includes the steps around the Sea Lions, the graphics which have started on the side of the Fury shed, and what looks like a new entrance portal around Land of the Tiger.
In the Shop, preperations begin for the World of Jumanji!
March 31st 2023
Small update, as Scorpion Express has returned to the tracks as build up starts for a proposed April opening.
March 4th 2023
With just a couple of weeks to go until opening, the announcement of the World of Jumanji opening on May 15th sets focus on getting the rest of the theme park open for the start of the season. More ride testing including Blue Barnacle, Jungle Rangers, River Rafts and Croc Drop. With Croc Drop we can now see the changes to the car to allow engineering to be lifted up and down the structure without climbing In addition, the old reused model has had a clean and paint.
Work in Shipwreck Coast continues as it starts to come together, whilst in Adventure point improvements around the Sweet Shop are now being made. With the new Coke Freestyle now onsite also comes new Merchandise out today. The big area is the works around Dragon’s Fury, with painting on going and the works shed starting to take shape, it will need a huge effort to get this open with the park this year. That said it does look fantastic! With other area of Land of the Dragons (Canopy Capers) we also saw being painted today.
February 25th 2023
As with every update more and more is happening at the park, with thrown in ride testing! The re-fresh of both the stage buildings and Games building in Adventure Point are now complete looking excellent. Around the park, painting on Fury continues as to work on the new works shed. Ride testing shows River Rafts in flow with both the new boats we told you about first in our recent video. If you want to keep up with all the information be sure to follow us on You Tube.
February 4th 2023
Work is really pushing forward to prepare for the new season, with new works started since our last visit. Work in Shipwreck Coast continues with Sea Storm, before moving up to the Rainforest with a likely new car for the Jungle Rangers. Tiger Rocks drop work is completed with painting on going. The big news is the entrance to Wild Asia getting some attention, with the painting of Dragon’s Fury also under way. Loads going on at Chessington for the new season.
January 14th 2023
Work continues around the park as the Winters Tail comes to a close. With Tiger Rock and Scorpion Express preparing for the new season with some painting, rides which were open for Winter have now been stripped back, including Trawler Trouble and Sea Storm. Sea Life is now also closed until the main season for further works.
January 1st 2023
The Winter works continue at Chessington with small areas of the park open to explore. Works in Wild Asia push ahead with Dodgems activity and Monkey Swinger already being re-built. Kobra on the other hand picks up pace with more works going on. The Scorpion Express cars have now been moved back to site as the ride is expected to open as normal in 2023. Other works include the Rats enclosure down in Shipwreck Coast and we picture one of the few Safari Skyway trains still on site, I mean why not!?
At the Lodge Entrance work continues to enhance much like the works completed on the Exployer Entrance earlier this year.
