Welcome to Dreamland Margate, considered the oldest operating theme park in the UK. Dreamland has had many issues over the years, once a huge flourish of rides and Zoo, with the likes of the Rolling Stone and T-rex playing in the parks Ballroom the park suffered from years of neglect and in 2003 the plan to demolish the park for housing became a reality.
From here save Dreamland came to light looking to keep one of the only operating Scenic Railways in the world alive. Despite attempts to burn the ride down grade 2 listed status enable not only the ride to be rebuilt but also for the park to benefit from lottery funding to once open its doors again. Although work is on going at the park with administration also still hanging over Dreamland, hopefully the future is bright for this historic attraction.
