Thank you for 21 years.
Thank you for stopping by UK Theme Parks, it means the world to me that anyone can enjoy the content which we put on the internet. 2022 we have re-branded to our original colours.
So how long have you followed us?
The website started back in 2001 on a free webhost service using the name “Biffa” this was named after the bins…! This all came about after we raced them drunk on the Isle of Wight after my first visit to Black Gang Chine. It still remains the username and back end email to this day.
In 2002 the site was re-named and launched as “Theme UK” which is still a massive name for us to this day as some may have noticed on our Social Media. The whole purpose of the site was to solely cover the 2 big South theme parks Chessington and Thorpe Park, with Chessington switching to family at this time and Thorpe Park switching to thrills.
This very much stayed the same for many years, we covered park guides before expanding (and me driving!) to other UK Theme Parks which would feature on the site as galleries and do still to this day. Chessington and Thorpe Park do unfortunately not feature on UK Theme Parks as the galleries are out of date and I have huge pride with these two theme parks.
Through colour changes, website upgrades and launched into You Tube in 2008 to document these parks.
I was fortunate enough to have two wonderful children in 2004 and 2009 who although don’t live with me hopefully share the passion for the parks to this day.
In 2017 after a host move, the new host decided I had too many pictures (on unlimited data) and shut the site down in early 2018. In 2020 I managed to get the basics back up and running however finally for our 21st anniversary we are back online, with some 23000 pictures in our back end. Not all are live quite yet but the bulk of the site is back up.
During the down time we took more to You Tube to put ourselves out there move and kept on documenting the wonderful parks in the UK. We try to provide an honest opinion, sometimes parks have got upset with us but ultimately we are visitors too and want the UK to shine in the Theme Park world.
Please enjoy our galleries and welcome back!
