Wild journey through the mountain faces!
Runaway Train is again one of the older rides at Chessington, as you climb aboard the train and are powered around a figure 8 track.
The ride is fairly short, but you will get a couple of laps of the track, and the experience of the ride is about the same from front to back, regardless of where you sit, this is due to the fact its a powered coaster.
What this means is that the coaster doesn't have the ability to complete the track on its own, and has motors throughout the train to move around the track at constant speed.
The ride is also one of the few rides which is operated manually, with the operator being able to decide hows many laps you get, and they also have to start and stop the ride manually.
Once the centre piece of Mexicana, Runaway Train does look very worn twenty years after opening, however, soes still give an excellent ride. |
