Widely regarded as the turning point for Thorpe Park was the worlds first ten looping roller coaster, Colossus! Colossus, although based on a ride with 8 inversions, is still to this day fairly unique, and offers an excellent experience to the thrill seekers!
At 100 foot high Colossus drops you into a loop before shooting you down the other end to the cobra rolls, back on yourself into two corkscrews then into a unique four line in line twist, before another one just before the station.
There’s no chance to catch your breath so don’t be fooled into thinking this ride was just to break records, its still a top thrill ride in the park and one of a few original record breakers in the world.
